Talk:Run Speedtest from command line
When attempting to use the speedtest.php, with appropriate setup (as far as I can tell), I get an error about not finding latency.txt (lines 36 and 40) can anybody offer advice? Thanks!
- Make sure you've created the temp_down/, data/ and upload/ subfolders in the folder where you are running the script --Alex 07:40, 17 May 2012 (PDT)
I followed these instructions and added three local speedtest servers (beanfield, nexicom, teksavvy). I could not determine what the results were from the output. Download speeds seem to be missing, and upload speeds seem like ~3Mbps, ~52Mbps and approx ~21Mbps. Additionally, the beanfield server is within the same ASN as this test box, so I expected it to be highest which is inconsistent with the garbled speeds, but is consistent with the latency (0.19).

- This means exactly what it tells - "duration is SHORT, this may introduce errors".
Basically, your up/down speed is very fast and files are being sent so fast, the results are unreliable. To fix this change the max download size to, say 5000 ($do_size[8]=5000) and upload size to say 500Mb (dd if=/dev/urandom of=upload_8 bs=1M count=500)
Either that, or the servers are buggy. Seattle, east oregon and estacada seem fine right now.
